mylogram

I had a mylogram on 10/15/09 on thoracic spine.  I had surgery on t6-t7 in may of 2008. The "vats" surgery.  I have had the past couple of months unusual pain in the brestbone area which goes down into my ribs, the whole area becomes a hurtful numbness. It is very hard to cope with as it hurts to take a breath.  When they did the test the pain and numbness came on instantly in the same fashion. What can this mean? I know something isn't right.
