MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there. You seem to be suffering from myoclonic jerks, sleep myoclonus which occurs during the initial phases of sleep particularly the moment of dropping off to sleep. Myoclonus may develop in response to infection, head or spinal cord injury, stroke, brain tumors, kidney or liver failure, lipid storage disease, chemical or drug poisoning. Usually sleep myoclonus is not disturbing but sometimes may point towards disturbing sleep disorders like restless legs syndrome.
The choice of drug for myoclonus is clonazepam, a tranquiliser, which is increased gradually. Drowsiness and loss of coordination are common side effects. Hope this information helps. Consult a neurologist immediately for further evaluation and treatment. Take care.
