nerve damage and more

I just wanted to add that my father also is parapalegic as well. He has been for 40 some years. if that could anything to do with his hand, please say. I need to find out what is wrong with him before he withers away to nothing. He isn't eating well, and he has bed sores that need protein as well. If you have any ideas for high levels of protein intake, that could help to.

Hello.

Whether his paraplegia and the hand weakness are related will depend on the cause of the paraplegia. Presently it appears that the hand weakness is due to the diabetic neuropathy. But a further investigation (nerve conduction study) is needed.

He needs protein supplements. There are different preparations available. You have to consult his doctor, preferably a nutritionist, before starting the supplements.
