nerve pain after keyhole gall bladder remval

six years ago I had my gall bladder removed by keyhole surgery.  After the operation I had burning and sharp pains in my navel including "cutting" pains in my vagina and my clitoris disappeared, seemingly having been withdrawn up into my body.  There is no external evidence of a clitoris any more.  The surgeon took some persuading that I was not imagining these symptoms and eventually referred me to a pain clinic, which was worse than useless. They gave a couple of injections into the navel which were excrutiatingly painfull, and which worked for a short time and then wore off.  Here I am six years later. All the pain and symptoms are the same and I can't bear to be touched on my navel, or indeed, have anything round my waist.  Needless to say, there has been no sexual activity in my house since the operation and I am, to an extent, limited in sports activities. For example, I can't ride a bike any more because I cannot bear the genital pain.  I can't swim because I can't bear cold water to touch my tummy.  

Is there any way of curing the nerve pain and getting me back to normal?  I am getting quite desperate and the doctors here just raise their hands in disbelief and can only offer medication to relieve pain, which I do not wish to take since it affects my thinking, making me slow mentally.
