neurofibroma question

by EES, Sep 27, 2007 09:16AM
Hello,
Are neurofibroma tumors dense enough to show up on a standard x-ray, or is it necessary to image them with a MRI or CT scan?

I have just had a neurofibroma removed. My symptoms started 3 1/2 years ago. Since that time they have used x-rays and CT scans, but was told they can only be seen on an MRI. I had also had 5 MRI's of my spine, but since the tumor was on the femoral nerve, no one saw it until they ordered an MRI of my pelvis, specifically indicating they wanted to check my femoral nerve.

Good Luck! And don't stop asking until you get an answer!
