neurological??

i am having severe pain, "electrical" shocks, and tingling, starting at my neck and going to my shoulder and all the way down my left arm. mri 3 months ago showed bulging discs at c4-c5 and c5-c6, with mild narrowing of left foramen and hypertrophy of luschka joints. spinal cord was clear. emg/nerve study showed no nerve impingement. but when the test was conducted, they had me hold my chin to my chest. well, duh! that always relieves my symptoms! is that why the study was negative? i KNOW that nerve is impinged, and my rheumatologisy agrees. should i ask for another test, with my neck in an upright position? i can hold my neck to the left side or back towards my spine and the symptoms are terrible! now my left forearm has started an intolerable itching from inside. nothing relieves it. i've tried creams. i have scratched it till it bled. the itching comes and goes, and there is no rash or redness. is this coming from nerves? PLEASE help! thanks!

Your symptoms do seem to suggest nerve compression probably secondary to the buldging discs at the cervical spine level.

Have you consulted a neurologist? If you haven't, it would be advisable to do so for a complete neurological evaluation of your symptoms.
