If it is a severe headache, you ought to be evaluated by a neurologist. There are medications that can be prescribed.

There are some medical journal articles on the subject of treating these type of headaches, but I can't find any that are publicly available for free at the moment. At any rate, the treatments are medications that would require a prescription from a doctor.
