i have a friend who,s been diagnosed with neurophathy of the central nervous system and as i dont know much about it was wondering if this could be explained a bit clearer ? everything ive read about it seems to refer to h.i.v  as a cause of neuropathy ? can you get neuropathy of the central nervous system in other ways such as an hereditary illness.

hi,relax, neuropathy simply means inflammation or some disorder of nerves which leads to symptoms like muscle weakness, tingling, burning etc.

Causes are vitamin deficiency, diabetes, low calcium levels, side effects of drugs etc.

Some autoimmune disorders which run in families are associated with neuropathy.

HIV is just one of the cause.
