About 16 months ago, I started feeling prickly thighs, when I was sitting, prickly where my clothes touched. I went through physical therapy for what the doctor called DJD for thoracic pain....felt like an electric centipede running around my back, and my right upper shoulder/back would cramp from sitting using computer at work. Therapy worked great on my back. The prickly legs spread. I was aware of my legs at rest sort of a background vibration. Soon, I progressed to generalized stabbing/pins&needles, itching, random....not centered...I repeat not centered in hands or feet. The stabbing, itching etc.. randomly attacks every square inch of my body at one time or another...any where there is skin is fair game. I went from 50 mg of lyrica at night, symptoms came on in evening only to 400mg at night. Then the symptoms came on earlier and earlier in the day. I cant take lyrica at work. It's like smoking marijuana and drinking....duh,,,,noodle brain.....New UCLA neurologist gave me clonazepam to take at work....duh,....noodle brain too....finally coworkers made me go home. I've been off 2 weeks symptoms are less. I am aware of the lyrica I took at night having a profound effect the next day....I don't know how I worked..yes I do. I almost got fired.
Possible causes of this atypical neuropathy
1. stress
2. lyme disease...either reinfection, relapse, or post neuro-lyme damage of some sort
3. I have been tested for all sorts of things and came out fit as a fiddle.
4. ??????????????????What do you think?
