Thank you a lot, you know, there alot of photos in net about nf1 people for whom I really care about and wish good health. I have lots of cafe spots, and have some lessions on my back, stomach and arms. they are not too much. I of course really worry about my baby, thouh ı am not pregnant yet. DO you know your mom's poroblems in her pregnancy?what your experiences during the pregnancy problems? does it really multiply rapidly, ı mean the lessions?
I went to a genetic to learn more about the baby's chance, and he said me that it can only be the carrier of the diease since my husband is not diagnosed.
Thank you a lot for you sensitivity,
love.
Sevinç.

hi I also have nf1, and have 2 childern, one who dose have nf1 and one who dose not. i think the chances of passing on to childern when one parents has it 50percent. my mother has it asd my younger brother as it. but my 2 older brothers do not. I too only have a few ltoo only have a few lessions and my daughter as none only cafe spots. but my mom dose have many and is very senitive abut her appearance. I would be more concerned about tumors, and learning dissablites, that my oldest child with nf1 dose have, then how the you think you my look. I only have six or seven and they are on my back and Iam sentive about them too but as you get older you will see it not that bad good luck to youand new baby. trocks
Hi,
How are you?
Neurofibromatosis 1 is an autosomal dominant trait. The gene for NF1 is located on chromosome number 17.
Genetic testing is now available for people who have a positive family history of neurofibromatosis, though the testing is not 100% sensitive.
Amniocentesis can sometimes determine if the unborn child has this condition. I would suggest you to discuss this with your OBGYN and based on her advice you can opt for amniocentesis.
Take care!
