no sense of smell for 3 years?

3 years ago i was hit on the back of the head sine then i have had no sense of smell. recently i was finally refered to a specialist and MR scan  the results show "focal area of T2 high signal change in right sub frontal region and the right cerebellum posteriorly,..." what does this actually mean ? the doctor tells me there is no treatment for my symptoms is that correct in this day and age? has any one had similar experience or can any one help PLEASE?

I had a head injury (back of the head) and have smell disorder.  I didn't lose completely but all smell was bad.  But gradually it improved and your doctor is kinda right.  No treatment.

But I tried HBOT, trying Homeopathy etc., and not sure any of this helped.
