non compressive cervical myelopathy

  I am a 57 year old home maker having difficulty in walking and for the last 8 months the limbs have become weak. And there are symptoms of muscle loss in lower limbs. MRI,EMG and other nerve conduction studies were carried out and i was diagnosied as suffering from "non-compressive cervical myelopathy". I was advised to go for occupational therapy and i am taking vitamin supplements like glucosamine. I underwent ayurvedic massage therapy treatment for a month, but no  improvement. Can you help me waht to do? Is surgery a solution for this? Can any alternative medical treatments like acupuncture help?
