I have been livingAdvanced care directives with pain in my earsEar barotrauma Ear discharge Ear emergencies Ear examination Ear tube insertion Ear tube insertion - series since 1976. Over time as my hearingAge-related hearing loss Audiology Hearing loss Hearing or speech impairment - resources loss increased, so has the pain. Around 2004, the pain in my earsEar barotrauma Ear discharge Ear emergencies Ear examination Ear tube insertion Ear tube insertion - series started to travelTravel sickness to areas in my headHead and face reconstruction Head injury Head lice Indications of head injury Radial head injury. At the present time, if the pain happens to strike in a certain spot, my eyes get blurry, and this has happened 3 times while driving. The other day I got a pain so intensifying in my left ear that it traveled down my neck, and my left arm started tingling and I felt heart palpitations. The next day, while driving to work, my heart was racing again. The nurse did an EKG which was abnormal. I have since had an MRI and am due back at ENT this Friday. Next week I am scheduled for a stress test and echocardiogram. I am waiting for an appt with the optometrists to check my vision, even though I have a new prescription that is only about 6 months old. I also get a stiff neck, burning sensation in different spots in my back. The charley horses happen way too often and the pain wakes me up and I can not go back to sleep. If that wasn't enough, I am taking classes in college where I cannot keep up anymore. I am an A student, and am being sent to the dean for retention counseling. The stress and cold whether are too much to handle on top of everything else. It would be so easy to drop out of school, but if I did that without medical approval, vocational rehab will not take that too kindly. My question is what do I do if nothing shows up even with all these tests. It has taken 30 years just to get their attention! The fact that I had a headche at work helped, and my boss had a nice long talk with my ent DR. Like all of you before me, it seems that if the xrays show nothing not much gets done. I actually had one Dr. admit that they don't know what to do. Honesty went a long way, but it doesn't help me cope with this pain. I have not yet been given any medication. So I take baby aspirin for my heart and drink beer to sleep well at night. Any advice out there would be appreciated. Lesley
