numb/weak left leg and numb left side of face after MMR vaccination

3 weeks ago I had an MMR vaccination. I didn't want to have it, but I'm an older student at a university and I had to have it. I had all those shots as a child (and even came down with the mumps in 1968), but I guess my records wern't good enough. One hour after the shot my left leg felt weak and numb. It has only become more so in the 3 weeks. Two days after the shot, the left side of my face went numb. This has remained numb too. Then about 2 weeks later, my left thumb and hand started to twitch and go numb. This has somewhat cleared. I didn't make the connection until recently that 25 yrs ago I had a similar experience. I had the cholera and typhoid vaccines (I was going to Africa) and a few weeks after having them my left side of face went numb. It stayed that way for awhile, then left. But all through my 20's my face would go numb and then recover. Several yrs after the cholera typhoid vaccines, my left leg went numb. This too came and went all through my 20's. I wondered back then if I had M.S.? At age 30 or so I don't remember having this problem again. Then 3 weeks ago at age 45, I get the MMR vaccine and in a very short time I get numb leg and face. I am so devastated by this. Did the vaccine provoke an auto immune reaction in me? I have been crying everyday. It is so hard to study my work for school. The physicians at the school have been such jerks to me! I finally found one to order an MRI. What does everyone think? callie_ec***@****
