numbness in leg and foot

numbness in leg and foot

I was lifting a box at home and thought I pulled a muscle in my shoulder. But the next day my leg was rather numb, plus my foot was also numb. It kinda feels like they fell asleep. My leg is better, but my foot is still numb and its making walking difficult. Is there something I can do for it to make it better? Thank you!

Hi,
The cause of numbness in the foot and leg could be nerve compression, nerve entrapment or spinal cord injury while lifting the box. Please go for physiotherapy or simple stretching exercises at home. Walking, cycling may also improve the symptoms though you have to struggle at the start.  Please consult a neurologist and go for MRI of the spine and leg if the symptoms persist. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
