numness

In July 2007 I had a fall at work that was diagnosed as severe spinal stenosis with a ruptured disc and pinched nerve.
After surgery 4/1/2008 for decompression and to fix the ruptured disc. But because of the long wait,my leg lost muscle mass and became very weak I also had foot drop during this time.  During physical rehab after surgery.  I have regained strength in both legs but now I have numbness in both legs from my hip to about 2 inches below my knee on both legs, my bottem is also numb.  I just had a new EMG test ran and I was tole that it showed I had damage to my L5 S1 nerve.  I am a diabetic with neuopathy for many years but I can tell the difference between the
symptoms I am still in rehab and am working very hard to recover.  Can you put any lite as to my symptoms after surgery appearing.  Have I caused this because I have been working so hard in rehab? And is this perminent damage.

You can see my post on the forum site. I to have some of the same problems and was and still am looking for answers. I stood for 29 years as a hairdresser and developed plantar faciatis. Please read forum notes............. I have the same numbness and pain that seem to relate to foot drop .........Did some research on the DELLON INSTITUTE. Look them up on the net. I had my sugeries done with a doc that went to the institute for 2 years.
