occipital neuralgia

having been diagnosed with oc I have tried various ways to handle and stop the pain. I can go for a week withnothing and then have pain with no relief for hours at a time. I'm self medicating at night with Aleve, Benedril and coffee. Has anyone else found a way to aleviate the pain. I also use a hot pad once it starts and arolled up towel undermy neck.

There are a few newer medications that could help with occipital neuralgia. I would suggest consulting a neurologist if these would be suitable and appropriate in your case.
