I have learned that Ocreotide scans find tumors that have receptors that bind to Somatostain.
What kind of tumors will it find?
Is there a minimum size tumor the scan can see?
what are the limitations of the scan?
I am specifically interested in whether it finds Growth Hormone secreting pituitary tumors and if it does what does that mean?
What if you had an octreotideOctreotide Octreotide acetate, it was reported normalNormal saline flush, but you had a 6-8mm tumor found during surgery (cavernousHemangioma sinus).
would the octreotideOctreotide Octreotide acetate miss a tumor that was highly dominat for prolactin?
