: Hi again......I had posted earlier about muscle
weaknessWeakness post viral infection. I have now seen the neurologist,
had a series of tests and still no positive answer. He found my
reflexesBabinski's reflex
Infantile reflexes
Moro reflex
Urge incontinence to be a bit brisk and did repeat alot
of blood tests, including calcium level which was not done before. I find my stamina improved but when I'm up
too long or walking too far I get a feeling in my muscles of fatigue and almost
painfulPainful menstrual periods as if I had walked for
miles. Last night this achey
(achy) feeling was so intense that I felt panicky
and nervous and difficult in relaxing in bed which I know I need in order
to relieve the symptoms. Someone mentioned to me something about
lacticLactic acid test acid buildup in muscles but
I haven't found out anything related to this. The EMG testing was normal.Any other suggestions for me??

The testing you have had done is certainly reassuring, while your symptoms are
still present the fact of having had a normal EMG and routine blood testing
(although I do not know what exactly what was done ) suggests that you do
not have a serious degenerative disease of either muscle or nerve and this
is nor a progeressive disorder which will cause any permanent disability.
As regards brisk reflexes, in isolation this is not a significant finding.
Lactic acid build-up occurrs in muscles after severe exertion and
causes the stiffness that we are all familiar with. I think this is not
really the same as the symptoms you are describing.
If all tests are negative we can at least be sure that there is no
serious prodgessive discbling disorder present, and this may well fit
into a vague poorly defined group of disorders knowm as post-viral
syndrome, this overlaps with fibromyalgia and post viral fatigue syndrome.
None of these disorders are progressive and if related to a viral infection
the ultimately resolve. The improvement in your stamina suggests that this
process is already underway.
