pain after wisdom teeth

i had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted 10 days ago. initiall, i was extremely swollen & experienced discomfort and pain that i would expect. i also had numbing on a portion of the lower lip. when the numbness subsided (4 days after the surgery) a constant pain started on my lower front teeth, but there is excruciating pain on my left lower incisor (a tooth that had shifted before when my lower wisdom teeth began to surface).  the pain feels similar to when i would get my braces tightened, but it has been incessant for 6 days now. when i wake up in the morning, it feels better but as the day goes along it gets increasingly more painful.
1. is it possible that my teeth are shifting & that is what's causing the pain? (my lower wisdom teeth had already surfaced when i had them extracted)
2. why does it hurt so much less when i wake up, but by 1pm i am in horrible pain?
3. is there anything i can do to help the pain? (pain killers/vicotin do nothing)...
4. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Thank you for your question. This may be Trigeminal neuralgia as you have typical one sided facial pain extending to temple and eye( ophthalmic branch of trigeminal nerve may be involved) and sore gums of the teeth of same side (maxillary branch of 5th nerve). Trigeminal neuralgia may have a triggering factor like recent history of tooth extraction, touch, cold breeze or hot sensation etc. which you need to evaluate and avoid. Drug of choice for trigeminal neuralgia is carbamazepine but as the dose may vary according to severity therefore I would advice an oral medicine specialist consultation or at least a physician to confirm this diagnosis and get you treated accordingly.
