pain and numb fingers both hands

3 months have shoulder and upper arm nerve pain and i wake up with pins, needles,numbness in both hands
had theraphy for frozen shouler cordizone shots inrt arm . had an exray only. theraphy makes it worse
seems all related, what should i do now.? any sugestion /?
ihave to shake my hands to get rid ok numbness and better when im up.

yes have mild in both hands 2yrs ago and emg. i may be having two codition going on. was told have frozen shoulder but nothing helps so am seeing the doctor again .yes have neck pain as well i did have two shots but still no improvement so he,ll probally do mri, i do wear braces at night. thanks for the replies . will let you know outcome.

Hi, Thank you for your question. The symptoms you are describing are associated with impingement of nerve or frank carpal tunnel syndrome in which median nerve is impinged leading to numbness, tingling sensation or pain. I would advise an orthopedic consultation who may investigate the problem with help of X-ray or MRI of the hand to reach to a probable diagnosis and further treatment required as per the diagnosis achieved. The first line of treatment mostly involves a splint to stabilize the wrist and needs to be worn at night or during the day for several weeks. Surgery may be successful in your case but suggested on severity and duration of nerve compression. Hot and cold compresses may also be helpful. In addition, avoid/reduce the number of repetitive wrist movements whenever possible. Hope this helps.

This sounds like either a nerve problem originating in your neck or Carpal Tunnel. Do you have an neck pain or neck problems? Have you had an EMG?
