pain in back of head behind left ear

by deb1124, Jul 23, 2009 10:25AM
My husband is 54 with high blood pressure and takes prilosec. Has always been in good health.  He has been complaining of headaches for about a month with stabbing pain for the last 2 wks in the back of his head behind left ear.  Pain comes and goes.  Head feels sore to the touch on left side.  Has a lump on back of neck about 2 inches in length and 1/2 inch wide.  What do you think is causing his pain?

Hi,
The lump ,benign or malignant , may be pressing on the nerves , thus  causing the headaches . Please get the lump tested and treated . An MRI should be done to find out any other lesions in the brain or spine leading to the pain .Please consult a neurologist for the same . Hope this helps you . Take care and regards!
