pain in legs,arms,neck,electric shock sensations

my 16 yr old has neurofibromatosis 1 with no problems since diagnosis age 2. He has had two epsisodes of acute pain in both legs,and arms with neck pain.  He is now hospitalized for this condition.  He has periods of electrical shock pain in left arm and leg followed by numbness and muscle weakness and muscle spasms following the electric shock sensations  He is dizzy.  The doctors have ct'd his neck and back during the first episode. Nothing was found except a minor bulging in his lower lumbar discs.  My mother has RA my daughter has lupus and I have a cousin with MS however his ANA is fine.  They did a mri of his entire spinal cord today we do not have the results back yet.  I need help the doctors seem at a loss
