pain in matoid area/behind ear

have also put this on the ent forum.  my then 11 yr old daughter suffered ear problems from 6 months old.  ear infections constantly.  she got a massive ear infection which required hospital treatment.  Once the infection cleared up she was left with pain in and around her ears.  Have been seen by ent, maxfax and neurology.  nobody has given us a diagnosis just a vague suggestion that the nerves have been damaged by the infection.  Treatments offered were the antiepilepsy drugs which had horrendous side effects which we rejected after trying them.  the pain became less and therefore manageable until 10 days ago (she's now 14) and have spent all day in a and e and just been sent home with ineffectual pain killers.  Can anybody help?  She's not got great quality of life, can't attend school which she loves going to, and its affecting her sister through disturbed nights and having the take a back role.  Makes me as a mum feel inadequate that I can't make it better.  Would really appreciate any help.  Thanks  deb
