peripheral neuropathy

I have been diagnosed as having peripheral neuropathy in both feet.  Anyone out there know of any relief?  I am presently on 25 mg of Northriptyline before I retire evenings, but lately that does not seem to give me relief.  I think if I am on my feet a lot during the day, it will give me more pain when I retire.  At times pain is excruciating. Any suggestions for relief?  Any alternative means besides medication that has helped anyone?  I would like a reply soon.  I think cold weather makes pain worse too.  I feel burning and tightening sensation most of my waking hours, keeps me awake for many hours.  Need advice.  I have been to 2 neurology specialists, one that specializes in peripheral neuropathy.
