persistent tingling & pain

by Laurie__0__0, Jan 01, 1999 12:00AM

: : My dr put me on prozac for postpartum depression following the birth of my third child.  After taking 20mg for two weeks, I developed a tingling/burning senstation on the crown of my head which radiates down my shoulders and upper back.  An MRI was negative, the burning does not respond to any pain medications.  Although I stopped the prozac 8 days ago, the pain remains (on day 12 now).  My dr feels it's probably a reaction to prozac and has instructed me to wait it out and see a neurologist (can't get in until end of January).  Do I need to worry?
: Perhaps you should consider seeing a pain specialist or a doctor in physical medicine and rehabilitiation.  They may be familiar with a case similar to yours.  And your reaction
: could be something that could be treated with natural remedies to try to get your nervous system back to normal.
