I was told that this sensation is called parathesis and is related to a neurological disease of some type. My burning sensation started in my left upper thigh about 3 years ago and begin to jump around my body like in patches. There are days that my right leg is on fire and it feels like someone put pepper in my eye. I have seen several doctors and had several tests but no one has diagnosed me. And it gets worse. I have had immense weight gain, mostly arouond my upper middle and it is hard like a rock. I feel like all my organs are five times their normal size and it all started with a burning sensation in my leg. You need to fina a good neurologist or endrocronolgist who wants to figure it out, not just move on to the next person. Good luck!
