pinched nerve cuase migrains??

I always get a bad pain the the left side of my head nothing helps this is almost always present with a burning and tightness in my neck and shoulders. Could this all be connected. My doc likes to think its stress. I am not so sure.

How would you describe the pain you experience? Is it throbbing, crushing, or sharp? Is there an associated aura when the pain occurs? Also, do you currently experience any anxiety or psychologic stress?

Migraines are usually throbbing, associated with an aura. Your condition might be more related to a tension-type headache, especially with the finding of burning and tightness in the neck and shoulders.  However, a pinched nerve cannot be totally ruled out at this point.

You could opt to consult a neurologist to evaluate your symptoms.

The pain I have is on and off and is a sharp stabbing pain that goes away as quick as it comes. I dont believe I am under any stress. Just everyday life. How do you cure tension type headaches b/c I have tired everything for over the counter and nothing is working. my doc perscribed imatrex. That has kind of helped but not really

Went through the post and your query.
It seems that you have migraine type of headache, tension headache or could be cluster headache.
Migraine headaches are known to be precipitated by some triggers which vary from individual to individual. Try to analyze any trigger factors leading on to headache like frequent emotional upsets, some food particles.
If it is migraine, there are few prophylactic medications available which can help you out.
