by embo123, Mar 19, 2008 03:50AM
Hi

Last year my left shoulder got injured and I have had severe pain in it.  Lately I have experienced pins and needles in my thumbs and hands.  My shoulder injury has effected the nerve in my neck could this be related.

when you injured your shoulder you messed up a nerve running from your shoulder to the bottom backside of your thumb.  To lessen the pain
feel down the top of your arm about halfway between your elbow and hand.  You will feel a valley between two muscles.  Take your two middle fingers and press really hard in this valley.  Do you feel alot of pain.  If so, continue to press along this area until the pain from pressing hard subsides.  In a few minutes your thumb pain will be gone.
If you are a big person you might have to do this many times before the nerve is healed.  Everytime you start feeling the pain returning, just massage the nerve in your arm.  Good Luck
