please help interpret mri

I received cervical mri results today, with no doctor to interpret it for me.  Can anyone decipher the following:  Mild reversal of the normal cervical lordosis.  At levels C4-C5 and C5-C6, there is a mild diffuse osteochondral bar with minimal encroachment on the thecal sac.  At level C6-C7, there is a moderate diffuse osteochondral bar with moderate encroachment on the thecal sac.  There is very minimal indentation on the cord however no abnormal signal.  No spinal canal compromise.  There is mild left neural foraminal stenosis.  The right neural foramen is intact.
Impression:  Multilevel degenerative disc disease as described above.  P.S.  I never had any neck pain until a year and a half ago when I was in a major auto collision.  Anyone have a clue on how to treat this to reduce the considerable pain I'm in?  Thanks

hello joan41,
well your report says that -
three levels of your cervical spine is causing problem in your neck. Doe to the Osteochondral bar, it's patially hitting on the outer most lining of your spinal cord.
Good news is that, there is no significant cord damage of compromise.
If ever you will ave neck pain, or numbness, etc in your upper limb, it will be on the left side, as evident by "neural foramina involvement"

Presently i would advice you for some muscle relaxants and physiotherapy.
Your major auto collision has got nothing to do with the present condition.,

Hi...ur MVA can be the cause of ur mild reversal of the normal cervical lordosis....if u had whip lash that went untreated it could the the cause. With PT u may be able to release the muscles that r pulling ur natural spinal curve in the wrong direction...sometimes it can be if the MRI was done lying down....but the MVA is most likely the reason.

Y do u not have a dr to interpret this?

And most of everything mentioned here says mild...so it may be meds and PT.

I am not a dr, but have many back and spinal issues.

Please post an update : )
