please help mentally retarded

im lohith age-20 from india . sir im an engineering student doing my final year . i an average student at studies i stand amoung top 20students in my class having 104 students . im able to write exams and get good marks in college but at home i have a problem ...

few days back my father bought some money and asked me to count .
problem is i was unable to count it properly ..... there was a mistake when my father counted . (but second time i counted i was right)

in 1 month he used to give me the business money and asked me to count ... i was and counting wrong in 1:3 ratio . i.e if i count three times one time its going wrong ..

but my younger brother counts it correct .... i feel tough to do it y?

even today he gave 500rs notes 50 and i said the bundle had 50,000rs but actually 500*50 is 25000 . i realized it after he counted the amount ............ im really ashamed of this incident , my brother laugh at me .... im smart doing engineering maths but why am i feeling this situation hard .. please please help am i mentally affected please help

Hi there.

Learning is really a multi-step process, and the best way to learn is through constant repetition and experience.  Everyone has a specialty or something he is good at, but at the same time there are also some areas where a person can struggle.

Try to practice and practice counting.  You can start with simple items first and gradually do the complex ones.  You can ask your parents or teachers to help you in understanding this.  Once you get the hang of counting things, everything will be a lot easier.

i know 5*5=25 but i dint think , i am not adjusting to new situations ....... i counted 5 bundles of 100 rs each bundle had had 50 cards.............100*5=5000 and wen i was given 500 rs bundle suddenly i counted 50 cards and with out calculating or thinking i replied it is 50000 with out thinking even a moment...............just keeping in the mind that 50 cards of 100rs gave me 5000 , 50 cards of 500 gave 50000 i mean .. i dont know y i answered , i made a quick answer with out thinking it once again.............
i become too confident and reply with out thinking very quickly .. which yields wrong results

how to overcome it ? please help
