Hi there. These sound like the initial symptoms of fibromyalgia. This is a common syndrome where one experiences long-term body pain and tender points in joints, muscles, tendons, soft tissues. possible triggers for fibromyalgia includes physical or emotional trauma, an abnormal pain response, sleep disturbances with some of these clinical features like chronic neck or back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome and depression. Other possible co morbidities are hypothyroidism, Lyme disease and sleep disorders. Pain points are called tender points, usually found in soft tissues on the back of the neck, shoulders, sternum, lower back, hips and knees. It is a deep aching, radiating, shooting or burning pain causing aches and stiffness in the body. Your neurologist needs to pursue fibromyalgia work up and management would be directed including physical therapy, exercise, stress reduction, antidepressants or muscle relaxants and cognitive behavioral therapy. Hope this helps. Take care.
