please look

For about the past 6 years or more I have been suffering greatly with numerous symptoms. The one that stands out the most is a very strange pressure that occurs and really has no trigger. It could happen at any time. It feels like someone is literally holding my brain and squeezing it. Along with that, I have also had many cognitive symptoms like running red lights because I forgot what red means. Not being able to read because I don't recognize words. Slurred speech. Loss of vision in my right eye for 45 min. Short term memory loss (I only remember this stuff because I started taking note). Weird mood swings (my hormone levels are fine as is my thyroid). Nausia. Random eye vibrations. Random body spasms. And the list goes on... The newest symptom though is the recent onset of horrible migraines. Completely debilitating. And they are happening almost daily now, for the past month. As for stress, my life isn't all too bad. I have a wonderful man and hopeful future. These symptoms have been going on for years, I have also had additions of temporary symptoms that have come and gone away like paralysis on my right side, petecheai(sp?) on my legs. On top of this I have the kind of exhaustion most 50 year olds don't have. My fiance and I went for a light walk the other day and walked about 4 blocks and I was to the point where it was a huge struggle to lift my legs. Can someone give me ideas?

So I saw the neurologist, and he didnt even have my MRI. The appointment was a complete waste of money, gas, and time. On top of that, he didnt believe a word I said and I left with him telling me to see a psychiatrist. As much as it pissed me off, I decided to humor him...so I made an appointment and guess what... shes referring me back to a neurologist. There is absolutely nothing mentally abnormal about me except a mild anxiety disorder.
Anyway, so what I did was I called my doctor back, the one who referred me to that neurologist, told him what happened, and said I wanted a disc of my MRI to take to someone else.
I picked up the disc and uploaded the photos to my computer and to my complete surprise was a huge white area on the back of my head (where my trauma originated)... its about an in and a half wide by an inch deep.
I called the doctor back of course, asking how they could have possibly missed that, and his response when he looked at it again was "oh yeah, i see now, thats fluid on your brain".
No further explaination was given, just another neurologist referral for NEXT YEAR.

I decided to research it myself, and discovered fluid on the brain doesnt show up as bright white on an MRI (from what I've seen) and that every explanation I've found of "bright white areas on MRI" comes back consistently with brain damage.

Since I have lost my job, I no longer have the insurance, but hey...doesnt look like they helped me anyway. I'm adding the best MRI photo of this to my profile for all to see. Leave comments and ideas please!

I just looked into lyme disease and that doesn't fit. I've actually had many many blood tests and never had any kind of infection.
Also my hormones are stable and my thyroid is fine.

I should also maybe be more clear about something...these migraines or whatever they are started about 4 years ago. But when they started were more like a horrible pressure...with no pain. It's only been the past month I've been getting painful headaches. The rest of my symptoms started over 7 years ago. So my "migraines" aren't the cause of all my other symptoms.

It's interesting u mention a rash, as one just cleared up about a week ago. I had it all over my body for over a month. I have pictures of it on another post on this very site actually.

Hi...You may want to check out Lyme disease. It can cause many of the symptoms you describe. There are also other bacterial and parasitic organisms transmitted along with Lyme that can cause lots of problems. You do not have to recall or have gotten the rash. (I didn't.) I was ill for two years with migraines, violent muscle and nerve twitching, throat paralysis, spine pain, extreme light-sensitivity, heart palpatations, just to name a few of my symptoms.  Doctors did not diagnose me...I did. The tests are very unreliable. If you are interested in being tested, then you would need to find a Lyme specialist for proper testing and diagnosis.  (I was once a "maybe MS" patient but I knew it wasn't!) Good Luck to you.

Actually it does not provide helpful to me as the migraines have no trigger. I actually don't even believe these migraines are even that since my prescription migraine med does nothing.

Hi, Thank you for your question. I can understand your worrying concern about long term neurological problems related to migraine and that may be most likely reason of your present symptoms and no sure success treatments that you have tried. The mainstay of the migraine treatment is always to identify the triggering factors and to avoid them. Triggering factors that may induce your migraine attack may be contraceptive pills, stress or depression, bright lights, loud noise and traveling. Other factors could be different foods such as cheese, chocolate, alcohol and even few fruits. Few women experience headache more commonly during the time of their menstrual periods & at the time of hormonal imbalance. I would suggest careful record of events that have proceeded with the attack and avoid those factors. In addition, try to rest in a dark & quiet room, meditate, have a balanced diet and avoid taking unnecessary drugs. Even then if you suffer continuous headache, please arrange an appointment with a neurologist right away who will evaluate the further underlying disorders here that may be the main reasons of your migraine attacks and can provide you an appropriate treatment. Hope this information proves helpful to you. Take Care & Regards!!!

Hello and thanks for writing! You're exactly right, it does feel like you're just...old. even the smallest tasks are something you have to plan ahead for. Keeping a job has been very hard. Even part time things are difficult depending on the job.
The brain farts are horrible. That is one of the worst parts for me considering when I was 13 my IQ was 162. Now I know its not even close and I'm constantly being second guessed when I say anything.
The worst part is when the doctor says you're depressed...as if depression causes short term memory loss and the inability to read.
Neurologist is a good idea. I think I'll make an appointment Monday.

Hey there,

So I am new to this site and new to having to deal with an unknown medical issue that seems to have taken over most of my life. I am very sorry but I do not know enough to offer any advice or suggest a cause.

However, if it helps at all, I too am having some of the issues you are. I am young too, 20 years old. So I can totally relate to the fatigue...it's ridiculous! It feels like I am in my 90s somedays, which makes it hard to keep up with friends, school, keeping a job!

I cannot relate to the squeezing sensation, but the cognitive issues I am dealing with too. My short term memory has taken a nose dive in the past year and there are times I have total brain farts and it makes me feel dumb.

The nausea, spasms, vibration feelings, poor speech and mood swings I have experienced too.

All I can say is that I have been through my family doctor and had an MRI, and now seeing a Neurologist. Although I am not diagnosed and I am in limbo of finding an answer, MS always comes up into the conversation with my family and my physicians.

I am not suggesting you have MS, I am not a doctor, nor do I know a whole lot about it. I'm just learning now but it seems like we share quite a few symptoms to a greater or lesser degree.

Perhaps research your symptoms, ask people you trust, continue to search and keep your chin up! Good luck.
