post laminectomy

14 weeks ago. I had surgery  a laminectomy, facatectomy, discetomy and exploratory to L4 and L5.
I have been back at work for 4 weeks now, and pain wise struggling to make half a day.
I have good movement, but continual muscular and lumber pain.
With the ACC here in NZ, things are pretty rough, and I have been told on Friday, by an OT, to deal with the pain, and it has been three months and I will be working a full week  from now on. and how far should I push my pain levels?. I work as an Diversional Therapist and am in front of people all day. They see me in pain and hunching over. I really need to stop and lie down for an hour around 11am each day.
Is this ongoing pain normal ? to the point of stopping me funchtioning in my job.
Any advice please

Thank you for your question. Although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

I doubt that still there may be some nerve is compressing or injured during leminectomy surgery. Sometimes these symptoms may occur due to other nerve compression after healing fibrous scar. It may take some time to I would suggest consulting another neurologist who would like clinically examine you and/or order few investigations like MRI to reach at probable diagnosis here.
