post operative care of herniated disc surgery

by awestbrooks, May 26, 2007 12:00AM
My husband just had a ruptured disc removed and 3 pinched nerves un pinched in T11-12 and L1-3 of his back. We was wondering if it was possible for you to give us some advice on what problems to look for and also, how much swelling should occur. Hes worried since it has swelled some that he might mess something up or that it might get infected. The incision site is not red and he isnt having chills or a fever, what could this possibly be? thank you and i would really appreciate a responce.

Can you give you Dr. or nurse a call about what amount of swelling is normal if any. They should be able to tell you and give you suggestions. Was there anything about swelling written in your post care instructions?
