post surgery

I had a menginom,a removed, was about 2.7 cm, iam not sure but surgeon said surgery went well and he removed 99 percent so that good right? whats this talk about residula tumour i dont wanna have radition therapy. I had radition as a kid thats how iam in this mess. I have lukemia when was five and they treated me with radition. iam 38 years old now. what percent or chances it comes back? with or without radition., this is frustrating. i think surgeon said might be only grade 1 . not sure yet have a follow up in july.

whats mean residul dunno for sure if i have resduil or not, but they made apt oncology dept

Hi there. Radiation therapy has an important role in meningioma management that has been subtotallyresected or is unresectable because of their proximity to critical neurological structures. RT is also used I few cases of presumed complete resection of atypical or malignant meningiomas which otherwise have a high rate of local recurrence. It has bee studied that RT after a partial resection of a meningioma improves progression free survival compared to partial resection alone and may be as effective as complete resection.
