I'm a 17 year old male, who just graduated high school. I've had so many symptoms over the past 6 months I can't even tell you or remember them to be honest. It all started out in January with what my doctor thought was a virus, but we're not really sure if it was or not. I lost 12 pounds in two weeks. I was dizzy, and VERY dizzy, felt weak, and had headaches for a month or so. Than it progressed to tingling in hands and feet, dizziness persisted, stiff leg muscles, ringing in ears, stiff neck, stiff fingers, vision changes, tremors in hands, muscle twitching, memory loss, weak/sore upper arms, some uncoordinated movements, and anxiety. I'm beyond worried at this point, I've had 4 blood tests, 2 MRI's(Brain and Spine). Have not got results from spine yet, but brain was normal. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for you response! Yes, I have seen a neruologist and she feels I have a post viral..thing. She feels I have a small fiber issue but is hesitant to call it neuropathy at this time.
I think my biggest problem is the fear of something progressive and the unknown. It helps to talk about it.
Thanks again!
There can be several reasons of your generalized body symptoms although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.
Most likely your symptoms could be due to injury to a nerve, pressure on spinal or peripheral nerves (neuropathy), vitamin deficiency, lack of blood supply due to blockage in the extremities, viral infection and use of certain medications. In addition, vessel block can also cause pain, numbness, and tingling while walking and they can also reduce blood supply and lead to numbness. Please consult your doctor to get all these possibilities evaluation in your case for further assessment. Hope this helps.
For starts, I would recommend getting a referral to see a Neurologist and see what he/she thinks about your symptoms.
Secondly, you can get parasethesia after systemic infections, especially viral...but have the Neurologist try to help you to sort your problem out.
Keep us posted.
