preiventricular leukomalacia

Hi My baby is alomost 8 months old now. He was delivered thru C section in the month of march. He came 9 weeks earlier than the normal period. My wife lost the liquor suddenly and the doctors said the baby had undergone something called as fetal distress. His weight at birth was 1.4 KG and he was on ventilator support for almost 20 days. Then we got him home and his weight at that time wasa 1.2 KG. My wife slowly improved his weight and she did all that was needed for the kid. Kangaroo mother care, massaging etc., He was on Gardenal for six months - the doctor had prescribed this since he had an episode of seizure on the 5th or 6th day from birth. Then the doctor asked for a ultra sound scan and advised us to gradually stop Gardenal. After the first incident of seizure, he has not had any episode of the same till now. Then we started the physiotherapy for him as adviced and the physiotherapist was talking about missing milestones. He has still not started to turn by himself and he does not hold his head straight for long. We did a MRI scan and the below lines are written in the report.

Extensive gliosis and volume loss with paucity of bilateral periventricular wihite matter with gross tractional exvacuo dilation of lateral ventricles s/o preiventricular leukomalacia[pre term HIE].
SECONDARY hypertrophic inferior olivary degeneration noticed in medulla.
delayed myelination in form of non myelination of corpus callosum fibres.
diffuse cerebellar atrophy.

What do I infer from this? Is there any treatment for the above disorder or what ever they call it. I have been told that there is nothing that can be done as of now. Pl help.
