primary lateral sclerosis

primary lateral sclerosis

Hi, I was diagnosed in the winter of 2001 with H.S.P., although I suffered from symptoms years before probably starting in 1998.  Then, when I started having problems with my voice I was then diagnosed with P.L.S. that was Jan. of 2004.
What I am concerned about is when can a person with my diagnoses be sure they don't have A.L.S.  I am sure everyone with P.L.S. is worried about that.  Is there a time when a person knows that what they have has gone beyond a certain time frame and they are not terminal?
Are there any Drs. that you can recommend in the Pensacola, Fl. area who have actually seen someone with P.L.S.  It is so rare.  My 1st neurologist was in southern In. I have since moved south.  My next Dr. was in Pensacola.  He has since moved to Biloxi, Ms., so I haven't seen anyone since.
If you could answer my questions I would greatly appreciate the help.

                       Thank you, Sandy Ciresi
