What can this be and is this pemanent.  I cannot drive or clean house, work, etc.  My memory is affected.

An elevated thyroid level either from disease or too much medication can certainly cause these symptoms. Your level needs to be checked regularly until everything is within normal range. Depending on the nature of your thyroid disease, a thyroid scan may be in order. Also, routine blood work should be ordered to make sure you don't have anemia or electrolyte disturbances causing your symptoms.

The history of miscarriages is concerning. Talk to your doctor about getting evaluated for diseases such as lupus and other clotting disorders like antiphospholipid syndrome with simple blood tests. This could also be contributing to your symptoms. Start with your primary care doc and then consider a neuro consult for formal eval of your leg weakness, dizziness, and mempory changes - all of which could possibily stem from the same disorder. Good luck,

I am sorry for the errors, I am very nervous.  I also had a MRI, EEG, and Lupus test and all were normal.
I was on Neoroton, and nortriptlyn but I feel like I do better without it as long as I do not exert myself.
Also, before I went to a different doctor, when these episodes started occuring my doctor increased my synthroid to 300mcg.
I have been normal now for 2 weeks because my doctor had to slowly decrease me.
Thank you

I had my thyroid removed 2 years ago. Recently my doctor wanted me to have a body scan in which I would have to take radioactive iodine. I am taking 125mcg of synthroid. My doctor told me to quit taking it for 3 weeks, so I did and felt terrible. When I started taking it again he told me to double up on the dosage I was on before. I did for the first day and started feeling very strange, so I cut my dose back to my regular 125mcg. I still feel a little strange but much better. Every where I have read about synthroid says you should never quit taking it suddenly or double your dose. was my doctor in the wrong?
