My mother had an internal tens unit implant approximately 4 - 6 years ago. She said that it did not work, that the leads were detached. This unit is for electrical stimulation and is in lower left abdomen. For the past 5 years my mother has psychologically deteriorated to the point of auditory hallucination which pharmecology and ECT have not helped. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and is under going chemo. Is there a blood test that can determine if the battery is leaking? The doctor who did the procedure has left the clinic. HIPPA also throws a curve into things. She is 80 years old and she has no quality of life. Where do we go? What do we ask? Thank you.
