radial head injury of elbow

I fell on my elbow about three months ago and although did not fracture it there was still loss of extension and quite a bit of pain a month after the initial injury.  I have been having physiotherapy for six weeks now and with ultrasound, manipulation and tens have regained full extension of my elbow. (Physiotherapist says it is probably nerve damage. However, I still have stiffness in the morning and there is still pain in the joint if I contract the muscles.  My question to you is if I warm up the elbow and muscles and continue at home with stretching and rehab will it finally heal on it's own? Or how long does it usually take with physiotherapy to heal completely?  Thanks for your help
