hydrocephalusHydrocephalus in which there is an obstruction of fluid flow in the brain which then causes increased
pressurePressure ulcer in the
cranialCranial ct scan
Increased intracranial pressure
Intracerebral hemorrhage
Mri of the head
Pseudotumor cerebri
Temporal arteritis cavity.
I don't have enough information to make any comment about prognosis and
recoveryRecovery position - series except to say that prompt recognition and treatment (relieve the
pressurePressure ulcer and remove excess fluid if needed) is very important.
Another problem that can arise after a neurosurgical procedure is edema which basically means brain swelling. This can be very dangerous and can cause coma/unresponsiveness. Treatment is largely medical, using mechanical ventilation and some drugs to decrease the swelling in the brain.
