sciatica

by sade101, Sep 03, 2008 06:04AM
When i was pregnant with my first baby, I had sciatica which is said to be a pain that comes from the spine and some way some how the sciatic nerve is pinched and the pain starts from the lower back and runs down the back of your leg. When my daughter was 2 weeks old, I went to my GP and complained about the same pain, She told me some women still suffer sciatica even after birth. she gave the drug IBUPROFEN and it worked for some time. but every time i don't take it, the pain comes back. PLEASE help me find a medicine that will cure my sciatica completely. thanks.

Hi,

How are you?
Treatment options for sciatica include physical therapy, stretching exercises and yoga and acupressure.
If Ibuprofen is not working you can try other NSAIDS like diclofenac, ketoprofen etc. But please do so only under medical supervision.
Vitamin B6 supplements have also proven to be useful in sciatica. Take care!
