My daughter who is only 2 yrs old has been diagnosed with epliepsy, she was having seizures every hour for about 30 seconds to a 1 half minutes. We have been told she is having localised seizures. She has had a EEG and a MRI scan. After 12 days we have just about got it controlled with medication. The Doctor has told me it is not commonCommon cold to be having seizures so frequently and thier could be a chemical imbalancement in her which may be the cause and that their is no cure for it.
Is it a chemical imbalancment in the brain? Can it cause so many seizurse? Will the body naturaly sort the balance out?
I'm sorry to learn what happened. Unfortunately, majority of seizures have no identifiable cause that can be easily reversed or addressed. A lot of seizures do occur due to imbalance of chemicals in the brain but the exact natureNature-throid Natures tears of these chemicals and how they may induce seizures are not yet fully elucidated. It will take a good physician-patient relationship with diligent follow up to manage this effectively. Only time will tell if this will get sorted out spontaneously (some seizures can be outgrown and disappear during pubertyPuberty and adolescence). Regards and God bless you and your daughter.
