sharp pain in back of head

Hi, this is swati. This question is about my mother. She is 45 years old. & from last 4 days she suffering from a sharp pain in her back of head. she feels like the pain is coming from inside of her head. Suddenly the pain starts
& in a second the pain gos to extream level. the pain stops after taking some painkillers. So i just wanted to know why this pain is so sharp? what are the reasons for this pain? also please suggest me the solution for this.

Pain at the back of the head may be caused by tension of the neck muscles due to stress, eye problems, migraines, or a pathology in the brain. Please go for MRI of the brain and consult a neurologist for diagnosis and treatment. Please ask your mother to keep herself free from stress, take adequate rest and go for regular gentle exercises.
