sharp pains

by nannerti, Sep 16, 2008 08:37PM
I have been having these sharp intense pains in my head. They only last for a couple seconds and then their gone. They hurt so bad that I actually feel light headed  and I can feel myself tense up. What could cause it? Or what should I do?

Hi,

How are you?
These sharp pains in your head can be due to anxiety and stress. If that’s the case please relax and take it easy for the next few days.
Other possibility is ice pick headaches which are sharp stabbing headaches which come out of nowhere and last for a few seconds. These headaches are common in migraineurs.
The possibility of neuralgias also cannot be ruled out.
Please wait and watch for a few more days if they still persist it is better to get them checked out.
