These shooting pains can come from many structures in that area including the muscles, nerves, bones, and ligaments. Pathologies in the nearby breast can also cause these problems. Most of these, however, are due to stress and muscle tension, but it is rather important to rule out nerve compressions or joint problems (through possible MRI scanning).
