side effects of carotid artery surgery
My uncle had carotid artery surg. about 8 months ago, his Dr. said he went through the surgery fine. Since the surgery he has had trouble swallowing and it is getting worse. His dr. said his tongue "is straight" and he's lucky because sometimes this is a side effect. He's afraid to eat because he is afraid he will choke. Is this a side effect of the surgery and if so why wasn't he told this prior to surgery and is there any hope that he will get better.
