skin sensitivity

The skin around my eyes (eyelids and below) really sting, burn and go red when I apply any cream. They also swell up if I do this. I have also had itchy skin generally and have put weight on without changing my diet or lifestyle. Any help?

Hi there. Since you experience redness, itching and stinging under your eyes after skin application, this means inflammation and can be present in skin disorders like seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea, or contact irritation or allergy, to a particular ingredient should be considered. Contact allergy can be tested by rechallenging with the product on a small area of non-facial skin or by patch testing by a dermatologist. You can apply ice packs and lactocalamine lotion to sooth your itchy skin and an antiseptic over the counter topical cream to ease the discomfort.  Take care.
